The Street Studio Project

The Street Studio Project – Summer 2020

“STREET STUDIO PROJECT©2020” is a community based photography project and visual neighborhood check in.

Covid has been rough for all of us. We all are seeking to process the world that surrounds us. Living as New Yorkers now is even more isolating at times. As long-time residents of the West Village and professional creatives, we wanted to do a project to connect and engage with the people in our hood and create something to celebrate each other as New Yorkers.

The Street Studio Project is what we came up with. Setting up on the corner of Charles St and Greenwich Ave. we created a pop-up photo studio. Then we simply engaged people on the street to have their photos taken.

We began the project in March and over the next 2 months, we would shoot 2 more times. In total, we captured over 500+ unique images.

To create and produce the project we self-funded the work. The sale of prints will go to cover out of pocket costs and our time. We are offering a 12″ x 16″ framed lithographic print of the selected work.

If you find your portrait onsite you can order directly and securely through our site. To download digital copies you can right-click on the image and “save as” to your desktop or photos folder.
